Description:  Dziobko. Here is an image of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken from the 7th Street Bridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 18 July 1955. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2004 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are BF-16's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 1,600 horsepower each. #2004 was constructed in July of 1951 and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, this A-A set has just descended the Allegheny Mountains with a fully-loaded mineral train that's will soon enter the Eastbound Receiving Yard. Willliam E. Burket Collection.

Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2004 and three more "Sharks" whose numbers are not recorded. All four engines in this A-B-B-A lash-up were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #2004 is a BF-16 built in July of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. The exact date and the location are not recorded.

Description:  AHC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1964. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2004 and #9714. Both were built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton and rated at 1,600 horsepower. #2004 was constructed in July of 1951 and retied in July of 1966, while #9714 was built in January of 1951 and also retired in July of 1966. In this context, they're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train around the Curve and down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded.
