Description:  Elmira. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Sodus Point, New York, on 30 June 1956. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4268 and #3437. #4268 is an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during July of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in August of 1934, and retired in October of 1959. #3437 is an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as an H-8SB during January of 1913, rebuilt as an H-9S in August of 1923, and retired in December of 1957. Description:  Elmira. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Sodus Point, New York, on 30 June 1956. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4231 and #4268. Both are I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapods" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #4231 was constructed as an I-1S during June of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in August of 1943, and retired in October of 1959. #4268 was built as an I-1S during July of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in August of 1934, and retired in October of 1959. Note the weather vane atop the sanding tower. (Not from "Stoneborobranch")

Description:  #4616 & #4243. Here is a duplicate 35mm slide of a photo by Philip R. Hastings that was taken near Shamokin, Pennsylvania, on 14 September 1956. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #3445 and #4268. Both are I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapods." #3445 was built in Juniata as an I-1S during January of 1919, rebuilt as an I-1SA in January of 1947, and retired in November of 1958. #4268 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S in July of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in August of 1934, and retired in October of 1959. They're pushing a 9,000-ton iron-ore train as it approaches the 1.3% upgrade near Shamokin. Also note that the helpers are ahead of PRR N-5 cabin car #477006! This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Steam on the Pennsy's Elmira and Shamokin Branches" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (785-35).

Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4268, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during July of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in August of 1934, and retired in October of 1959 after 36 years of faithful service. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. Produced and distributed by FJC Products of Newport, Delaware.
