Description:  Pint-sized power with a big job to do. This little guy does all the work for a handful of industries in Welland - switching cars between the factories and the CN Southern Yard about a mile east of here. The power is Page Hersey #7 (Stelco) unit working at what was the Welland Pipe Company, now Universal Resource Recovery.

Description:  What a pleasant surprise when I ventured down to Dain City, south of Welland, and caught this delicious Trillium Railways switcher, with a half-dozen crew, doing some track repairs on the old bridge. The bridge crosses the old Welland Canal, but ships no longer use this route, so the bridge remains in the down position.
