| Description: |
Built by Alco-Schenectady in August of 1939 as UP 4-8-4 #833 (serial #69174, class FEF-2), the loco seerved nearly 23 years before it was retired in January of 1962 and placed in storage. Eventually, in October of 1972 it was donated to the City of Salt Lake, Utah, for exhibitionn at Pioneer Park. No photographer, date or location was given for the photo. It does appear to be near Cheyenne, WY, and based on the car in the background, possibly early 1950's. |

No exact location was given but appears to be near Cheyenne, WY. Specs - serial #72791, 80" drivers, impressive 300 psi boiler pressure, engine weight of 486,340 lb, tractive effort of 63,750 lb. The loco is preserved as one of the "jewels" in the UP Heritage Fleet based in Cheyenne, WY. An unknown photographer took this great action shot! |
