Title:  ATSF 4-8-4 #2929 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Description:  Great action shot by R. P. Middlebrook of ATSF 4-8-4 #2929 heading up the Sandiegan passenger train on its way to Los Angeles. Built by Baldwin in 1944, it was one of the heaviest passenger locos built because lighter alloys were in short supply because of WW II. The loco served well until being retired in 1959 and sold for scrap to Luria Brothers. Specs - class 2900, 80" drivers, massive 300 psi, 28x32" cylinders, engine weight of 510,700 lb lb and tractive force of 66,000 lb.
