PURCELL OK July 29 1979 -- Santa Fe U36C 8748 (s/n 39698) leads a covered hopper train and awaits a crew to be called so it can continue south to Houston. GE built the 8748 in June 1974 and delivered it in yellow warbonnet. It was laid up bad order in Topeka KS during June 1992, retired, returned to lessor, sold to Pielet Brothers in July 1992 and scrapped.
