NORMAN OK June 3 1979 -- With a wave from the fireman side ATSF GP38 3556, GP39-2 3625 and U23B 6346 handle train 563 eastbound (compass north) as ut leaves Norman behind. | Description: |
NORMAN OK June 3 1978 -- Santa Fe GP39-2 3631 overtakes train 563 lead by GP38 3556 at the north end of the passing siding in north Norman. Visible in the foreground is all that remains of the lead to the former U.S. Naval Air Station which was known at the time as North Base. EMD built 3631 in February 1975. In August 1986 it was rebuilt into ATSF GP39-2u 3400. It became BNSF 2769 on Feb 9 2000. (Roster information from atsfrr.net) |

| Description: |
NORMAN OK June 3 1979 -- Eastbound (compass north) train 593, headed up by GP30 3203, overtakes a train led by GP38 3556. This is the siding on the north side of Norman beside U.S. 77 and the former Naval Air Station. The 3203 was built by EMD as GP30 1207 in May 1962 It became 3207 in the 1969-70 general renumbering. In Jan 1983 is was rebuilt as GP30u 2707. On March 17 2000 it became BNSF 2407. (Roster information from atsfrr.net) |
