Description:  Kern. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken near Cove, Pennsylvania, on 9 January 1960. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9546 and #9550-B. Both were built as EH-15's by GM-EMD, rated at 1,500 horsepower each, but later regeared and reclassified as EF-15A's. #9546 was constructed in November of 1948 and retired in December of 1963, while #9550-B was built in December of 1948 and retired in September of 1965.

Description:  Gallitzin. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, during November of 1960. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9542, #9550-B, and #9654. All are EH-15's built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9542 and #9550-B were built in 1948, but #9654 was built in 1950. They are parked (with engines off) at the sanding tower at the wye connecting the east- and westbound legs of the PRR's mainline in Gallitzin.

Description:  24th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 11 October 1963. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #9557, ##9550-B, and #9788. All were built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9557 is an EF-15 built in 1948. #9550-B is an EH-15 built in 1948. #9778 is an EF-15A built in 1951. They are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge with 154 empty hopper cars on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West.
