Description:  Hintingdon. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Nelson Bowers that was taken just East of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, on 31 August 1952. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6870, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata as an M-1A during 1930, rebuilt as an M-1B in May of 1948, and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of faithful service. It is pulling a merchandise freight train from Enola to Altoona and points West. A portion of US Route 22 ~ the "William Penn Highway" ~ is visible at the left.

Description:  TRB. Here is the first of two successive 35mm color slides of photos by John M. Prophet III that were taken at the Rockville Bridge near Rockville, Pennsylvania. Shown here are two Pennsylvania Railroad Class "M" (4-8-2) "Mountain" locomotives. At the left is #6760, an M-1B built in Juniata as an M-1A during 1930, rebuilt as an M-1B in May of 1948, and retired in September of 1959. At the right is #6948, an M-1 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in December of 1926 and retired in September of 1959. They have just passed ROCKVILLE Tower (on the right), and are about to cross the Bridge with an iron-ore train bound for the steel mills of Western Pennsylvania.

Description:  Miscellanea. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Philip R. Hastings that was taken in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on 2 December 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6760, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata as an M-1A during July of 1930, rebuilt as an M-1B in May of 1948, and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of faithful service. It's pulling a mixed-cargo freight train out of the Williamsport Yards. Note the "doghouse" on the coast-to-coast tender. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Steam on the Pennsy's Elmira and Shamokin Branches" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (785-1).
