Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6924, an ES-17M road switcher built by GM-EMD as number "7624" in January of 1958, rated at 1,750 horsepower, and renumbered "6924" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-56). |
