Description:  Although wearing the New York Central name, this was actually an 0-6-0 switcher built for the Chicago Junction #231. It became Chicago River & Indiana #231 in May of 1920, another NYC subsidiary. The loco was built by Alco-Cooke in 1918. Specs - serial #59340, B-62 class, 52" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine weight of 163,000 lb, tractive effort of 39,100 lb.
