Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken from under Juniata's 17th Street Bridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4378, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S in January of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in July of 1931, and retired in February of 1958 after 35 years of service. Partially visible in the background is the 50-stall East Altoona Roundhouse. John S. Fisher Collection; #2 of 13. |
