Description:  Western Maryland had 2 BL2s. It made two slugs for the BL2s to mother out of spare parts. A close look at this slug shows EMD trucks and most of an ALCO body. Clearly the BL2s needed more traction to perform yard switching duty, as seen here. Where else can you see a BL2 parenting a slug but here? That last phrase ought to get me an "Editor's Choice."

Description:  KCS yard slug 402 uncoupled at EStL. The cast, Baldwin-style frame details strongly suggests this is the former KCS 4080, delivered from MAC in 1982 using CNW slug BU-18 as its core, although MAC apparently changed everything from the frame up during the process. CNW had rebuilt it from DS4-4-1000 1075, the former CGW 39, in 1974.
