| Frequently, usually on Saturdays, the New Orleans Public Belt Railway entertains groups of people on passenger specials that ascend the Huey P. Long Bridge to the superstructure and return to New Orleans. This year, new car LOUISIANA (at right) has been added. In previous years, only the CITY OF NEW ORLEANS car (at left) was on the train. In this view, new bridge spans are seen at left. They were recently added to accommodate highway lanes that will go under them as part of the project of widening the highway lanes of the bridge. |
