David Stewart	General	Yep, It's now at GP38-2 specs. Note the over hang on the back of the cab which denotes a dash two build and also the site glass window towards the rear. The spotting feture now as a rebuild is the paper air filter box added behind the air intakes. So it was rebuilt from a GP0-2. This one retains the three radiator fans where some have had the midel one removed. Good shot!	1/20/2009 6:41:19 AM

David Stewart	General	Also a note, the same 645 series prime mover is reatined. Just the turbo is gone which drops the HP to 2000. The same tracive effort is put out and less fuel burned at low speeds and during switching. Under ten mph, A GP40 is puts out nothing more than 2000 HP any way the same as a 38. The same power assemblies can be used also which makes a parts sorce very wide and cheap.	1/20/2009 6:44:44 AM

Chattahoochee Bay local
The Chattahoochee Bay local is using some Bayline power while working the NS interchange in Hilton. Despite the GP40 outward appearance, this locomotive had a sound like a GP38. No turbo whine was heard at all. A de-turbocharged GP40???
