Jared Childress	General	That just sad, looks liek she has been serverely neglected and is in MAJOR need of repair even as a static display. Some one needs to step in and take care of this old piece of Santa Fe history. If not that at least daonate her to a museum who will be worthy of taking care of her. Todd Crim	General	I just saw a news article that claimed a group called the Coalition for Sustainable Coal has acquired this locomotive (I did another search on a popular news site and found a bunch more articles, so it looks like a real project). It said they plan to work with the University of Minnesota to restore and convert it to use "biocoal" under the ID "CSR 3463". The article went on to say the idea is that making coal out of sustainable forests is cheaper than diesel, virtually carbon neutral, and free of heavy metals and other unpleasant things. Other benefits included the fact that it could be deployed in countries where high speed railroads are not feasible. They anticipate it being able to pull a passenger train with "electric –like performance" for less than the cost of a diesel-electric. Personally, I hope it happens so I can buy a ticket.	6/6/2012 4:00:52 PM
