NKP 4-6-4 #176, Nickel Plate (New York, Chicago & St. Louis RR)  Contributor's Pick!
This is one of the 4 Hudsons built by Lima Locomotive Works for the Nickel Plate Road. This was a class L-1b with the 73" drivers and 215 psi boiler pressure like the ones built early by Alco-Brooks. This and its 3 other sisteres were delivered in the fateful month of November, 1929 of the stock market crash, possibly explaining the lack of further orders. She was sold for scrap on 8/26/56 to Luria Brothers.
