WLE 4-4-2 #2301 - Wheeling & Lake Erie  Contributor's Pick!       
This 1905 Alco-Brooks Atlantic-type locmotive was an E-1 class with very high stepping 79" drivers - great for speed. The loco could generate 190 psi boiler pressure for its 21"x26" cylinders,. The engine weight was a light 191,530 lb and its tractive effort was a modest 23,440 lb.

Robert Farkas General I believe the original photographer mislabeled this slide. From the size of the hill behind the tender, this isn't Brewster which is basically flat. 1/14/2014 10:55:47 AM
