A pair of GG1's transferring an E40
An unidentified E40 behind two GG-1's on the Trenton cutoff at Willow Grove, PA in November, 1976. Sadly, the Gs were taking the E40 to join other reclassed EP-5's at Harrisburg's deadline.

Tom Beckett General The E40's-formerly New Haven EP 5's, the "jets"-did not have a distinguished career on Conrail. I think only two stayed in service for an appreciable length of time. I know it's kinda grainy, but I love this shot. G's, pans, and wires, in the setting sun. Really conveys the feeling of high density, heavy haul railroading, which the Pennsy was all about. 9/22/2015 4:01:36 AM
