Here is page one of a five-page article by Hamilton Peltz entitled "Highballing The Pennsylvania Special." It was published originally in the April 1972 issue of "Railroad" magazine, page 28. Photo Caption: "A helper engine was needed to pull the 'Pennsylvania Special' over the summit on the Pittsburgh Division." Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2427 and another whose number is not recorded. #2427 is an E-3A (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata during 1903 and retired in August of 1927.
