LIRR 22, G-5S, c. 1952
Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken in Morris Park, New York, c. 1952. Shown here (L to R) are Long Island Rail Road engines #114 and #22, and a GE "44-Tonner" diesel locomotive. #114 is an H-10S (2-8-0) built by the Lima Locomotive Works for the Pennsylvania Railroad as number "8222" during October of 1915; it's deadlined due to serious firebox issues. #22 is a G-5S (4-6-0) "Ten-Wheeler" built in Juniata during January of 1924. According to Mr. Mike Woodruff, "The GE 44-tonner is LI 400, blt 12/50, GE serial 30854, sold 11/63 to the Black River & Western, later (~1967) went to the Valley RR in Connecticut." #7 of 11.
