IC Transfer Run
Illinois Central GP38-2 9560 and SD70 1039 lead a combined transfer run/intermodal train Q-192 over the New Orleans Public Belt at Walnut Street. The train was on its way from MAYS YARD to STUYVESANT DOCKS YARD, but most of the mixed freight would be delivered to the NOPB at COTTON WAREHOUSE YARD. Most of the cars on the front of the train were former Southern Pacific box cars in the IC 532800-532874 series. The 9560 was originally Gulf Mobile & Ohio 740, while the 1039 was the last locomotive acquired by the IC before it became a part of the Canadian National.
