Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Syracuse, New York, c. 1969. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Alco RSD12 #6858, 1800-hp, at Syracuse, N.Y." Shown here is Penn Central Railroad engine #6858, an RSD12 road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company as PRR number "8658" in January of 1958, rated at 1,800 horsepower, and renumbered "6858" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-38).
