The brightly painted Toledo, Peoria & Western switcher was built by Alco in September of 1949 (serial #77404) for the TPW. One source has it being sold to the OCTR (Octoraro RR) sometime in 1984 although no corroborating info could be found. As sister unit, TPW #202, was found on the OCTR roster. The OCTR ceased operations in 2004. A note from Thomas Dyrek (see comment below) indicates that unfortunately this unit was finally scrapped sometime in the 1990's. Hugh Blaney slide |
