KCS No. 54
Kansas City Southern train 54 was stopped at Marconi Drive in New Orleans. on the Norfolk Southern OUTER BELT. The train originated at the CSX GENTILLY YARD and operated over the NS for six miles to get to the KCS. The locomotives were GP40M-2 4767 along with SD60’s 739 and 732. The 4767 had been built as Western Pacific GP40 3503 and its number box looks odd because it originally had a Pyle-National single-beam headlight.
