PRR 4343, I-1SA, 1956
Coal Power. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Columbus, Ohio, in August of 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4343, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during December of 1922, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in February of 1936, and retired in January of 1960 after 38 years of faithful service. Perhaps they're discussing the Indians' chances of beating the Yankees and going to the World Series.
