| Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken near Thorndale, Pennsylvania, on 14 July 1957. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #559 and another locomotive whose number is not recorded. Both are Class L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikados." #559 was built in Juniata during November of 1914 and retired in August of 1959 after 45 years of faithful service. ("LouisFols"; #17 of 21) |
