MKT Inspection Car #1045         
MKT MOW loco GP39-2 #385 pulls the unique MKT inspection car off the turntable on this November day. The inspection car was built by the MKT Denison TX shops in 1973 from a Standard-Pullman 40' boxcar. The rare, one-of-a-kind inspection car now resides at the Oklahoma Rwy Museum in Oklahoma City. Tom Beckett General If I recall, the power here was once a Kennecott Copper GP 39-2, and had an extended height cab for use in their open pit mine, obviously modified when it went to the MKT. 6/26/2020 3:32:50 AM
