L468 leaves the yard, easing into the curve and crossing Johnson Street
Train is on the easternmost of two tracks coming out of the former C&NW Monona Yard, used by WSOR in Madison since around 1996. It curves sharply from a southerly heading to northeasterly, and was once part of the C&NW line between Madison and Milwaukee, which now only goes as far as Cottage Grove. At a switch east of Waubesa Street, formerly a diamond crossing known as Junction A, the ex-Milwaukee Road line to Sun Prairie, Marshall, Waterloo and Watertown splits off.
