Here is a postal card that could be entitled "Nassau Interlocking." No Postmark. Caption On Reverse: "Orange and gray Long Island Rail Road C420 #211 is passing Nassau Tower in Mineola, New York. The tower controls the junction with the Oyster Bay branch. Kodachrome by Bill Myers." #211 is a C420 built by the American Locomotive Company in April of 1964 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. In this context, it's powering a six-car passenger train. |
