PRR 9834, EFP-15, 1956
Dziobko. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dzobko, Jr., that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania on 16 August 1956. Prominent here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9834 and #9547. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9834 is an EFP-15 constructed in April of 1952. #9547 was built as an EH-15 in November of 1948, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15A, and retired in December of 1963. In this context, they're waiting for their next assignments while parked under Juniata's 17th Street Bridge. ("PrrFan18n")
