Southwest Forest Ind. 12         
Southwest Lumber 12 sits on a piece of track in north Flagstaff. The Baldwin-built engine is a 2-6-6-2 Mallet, built in 1929 for Hammond Lumber Company, and originally had side tanks. The engine was relocated to Samoa, California in the 30s, and renumbered to 12. In 1951 and 1956, the engine was sold to new owners. coming to Southwest Lumber Mills in 1956. The unit had its side tanks removed in the late 50s, around the same time Southwest Lumber Mills rebranded as Southwest Forest Industries. In 1960, the unit was retired, and was originally on display in a park south of town. In 1994, the engine was moved to its current residence, along with a log car, and a Santa Fe caboose, CE-2 999455.
