Bowers. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Nelson Bowers that was taken at Penn Station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 23 May 1947. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8259, an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the American Locomotive Company during August of 1916 and retired in February of 1959 after 43 years of faithful service. In this context, it's powering an eight-car "Off The Beaten Path" railfan excursion. The Reading Terminal is at the left. |
