| This "grand dame" of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Rwy is the oldest surviving ATSF steam locomotive in the US. Originally built as ATSF 132 (serial #5266, class 10-36-E 3) by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in September of 1880, it carried many numbers through the years - #132 in 1880, ##912 in 1898, 2414 in 1900. The loco was rebuilt to 0-8-0, restored to 2-8-0 as #132, and in 1950 overhauled with the new #1 and name "Cyrus K. Holliday". Finally donated to the Kansas Museum of History in Topeka, KS, it was renumbered one more time back to #132. An unknown photographer caught it while it was #1. |
