ATSF 2-8-0 #820 - Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe         
Built by the Burnham Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in January of 1902, this Vauclain compound locomotive was simplified in November of 1909 at La Junta, CO. This photo is probably the last one to have ever been taken just before it was sold for scrap to Luria Brothers on 9/12/1950. Simplified specs - 57" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 24x32" cylinders, engine weight of 203,115 lb, tractive effort of 49,500 lb.Arthur B. Johnson photo
