UP 4-12-2 #9022         
Massive and intriguingly different, Union Pacific 4-12-2 #9022 had an odd three cylinder construction with a third cylinder driving an eccentric in the axle of the second pair of drivers. The loco served until being scrapped in September of 1954. Specs - 67" drivers, impressive 220 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" outside cylinders & 1 27x31" inside cylinder, engine weight of 495,500 lb, impressive tractive effort of 96,646 lb. Jack A.
