PRR 4872, GG-1, 1956
WB. Here is an image of a photo showing a group of Pennsylvania Railroad employees posing with engine #4872, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during January of 1939 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. This locomotive is one of just three GG-1's to receive the silver color paint scheme for "Congressional" service, the other two being #4866 and #4880. Perhaps these employees are gathered to mark the completion of #4872's makeover. Their names and that of the photographer, as well as the exact date and the location, are not recorded. William E.
