PRR 8664, AS-18AM, 1958         
Volkmer. Here is an image of a photo by William D. Volkmer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 19 July 1958. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8664, #8675, and #8665. All are AS-18AM's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower each. #8664 and #8665 were constructed in February, while #8675 was built in March. They're on their way back to East Altoona after completing another helper/pusher run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back. Visible at the right is the storage yard for the PRR's 12th Street Car Shops. Photo taken from the 17th Street Bridge. William E. Burket Collection.
