Doubleheading Eastbound Empties
Big Boys 4018 and 4017 race along with a train of empty gondolas near Cooper Lake. The train did not require the second engine tonnage-wise, but instead the engine was added to transfer power back to Cheyenne to compensate for a spike in westbound traffic. Obtained from Union Pacific Steam: Big Boy Portraits (Bush, Ehernberger)
