Milepost 3.0 on the Princeton University Campus  Contributor's Pick!
Resting between Laughlin & Little Halls, Milepost 3.0 still remains from the original "Princeton Branch" of the Camden & Amboy Rail Road (later the PRR). Built in 1865, the line, now commonly referred to as the Princeton to Prinction Junction "Dinky" Line of NJT, has had four station movements to the east in order to allow expansion of the Princeton University campus. As a result, the original 3.2 mile line is now down to around 2.7 miles; i.e. Milepost 3.0 became marooned inside the PU campus after the station was moved and tracks removed in 1920.
