MSSX 0-4-0T #7, "Seven Spot" - Minnesota Steel Company
This "saddle tank" 0-4-0T steam locomotive was built by the H.K. Porter Company in October of 1915 for the Minnesota Steel Company. Nicknamed "7 Spot", it worked the steel company's yard moving hot metal and slag. It's last owner, US Steel Company, donated the little switcher to the Lake Superior RR Museum in 1973. It represents the many small steam switchers that were used in the iron and steel industry in Minnesota.
