| Passing Dunn @the east end of St Paul Yard on the Milwaukee Road and Dayton's Bluff on Burlington- "Running with the current of traffic" meaning east on the Eastward track along highway 61 between Oakland and the dispatcher @Newport--- this was joint double track with the Rock Island having trackage rights west of Newport to St Paul. It was left hand running because of the climb up and out of the Mississippi River valley west of St Croix Tower near Hastings, Minnesota on the Milwaukee and Prescott, Wisconsin on the Burlington--- where the St Croix river joins the mighty Mississippi on its way to New Orleans!!! |
