Title:
PRR 4860, GG-1, 1953
Description:
Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Passenger Station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 4 October 1953. Shown here is PRR engine #4860, a GG-1 (4-6-6-4) built in Juniata during December of 1937 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. This photo taken from the excursion train, which has just begun moving and will soon cross the PRR's Cumberland Valley Railroad Bridge. #7 of 14.

PRR 999400, MoW Tender, 1965
Description:
WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona on 28 March 1965. Shown here is PRR #999400, a former steam locomotive tender that has been relegated to Maintenance-of-Way service. Instead of supplying a steam locomotive with water, it's now filled with fuel oil to replenish the steam-heat boilers in GG-1 electrics ~ like #4860, idiling-away on the adjoining track. Photo taken near HARRIS Tower, just West of the Harrisburg Passenger Station.
