Description:
249 of these Z class (for Zulus) were built by Baldwin and Schenectady between 1909-1913. They were were described as "good sized Consolidations" with 61" drivers, developing 185 psi boiler pressure for their 25"x32" cylinders. The engine weight tipped the scales at 232,000 lb and they could generate a tractive effort of 47,377 lb. No photographer listed and date is approximate.
