Album Info:Fairly nice collection of Union Pacific 2-8-0 Consolidation photos. Unfortunately, nearly all did not have any information like date, location or photographer.

UP 2-8-0 #6085 - Union Pacific
Title:  UP 2-8-0 #6085 - Union Pacific
Description:  Built by Alco-Brooks in January of 1908 as Las Vegas & Tonapah #31 (serial #44751), it was renumbered in 1916 to Los Angeles & Salt lake #3620. Finally in 1921, it received the UP number 6085 as seen in this photo. The loco was "vacated" by UP (retired & scrapped) in April of 1948. Specs - class C-2, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 220,500 lb, tracitve effort of 43,305 lb. Unknown photographer.

UP 2-8-0 #438 - Union Pacific
Title:  UP 2-8-0 #438 - Union Pacific
Description:  Originally built as UP 2-8-0 #1658 by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessar) in December of 1900, this loco served the UP quite well. Originally built as a Vauclain compound steam loco but was simplified sometime between 1903-10. The loco was renumbered to UP 438 in 1915. After nearly 54 years of service, it was "vacated" by the UP (retired and scrapped) in April of 1954. Rebuilt specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x30" cylinders, engine weight of 187,891 lb, tractive effort of 39,458 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so an approximate date was used.

Title:  UP 2-8-0 #6029 - Union Pacific
Description:  This 2-8-0 Consolidation started out in life as San Pedro, Los Angeles & Salt Lake #620 built by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in December of 1904 (serial #24914). In 1916, it was renumbered Los Angeles & Salt Lake #3620. Finally in 1921 it was renumbered again to Union Pacific 6029 as it appears in this photo. The loco served for nearly 43 years before being scrapped in August of 1947. Specs - class C-2, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 220,500 lb, tractive effort of 43,305 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for the photo so approximates were used.

Description:  Long before a GP38 wore the number 449, this 2-8-0 Consolidation had the honor. Built by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in December of 1900 as UP #1669, it was a Vauclain compound Consolidation. that was simplified sometime between 1903-10. The loco was renumbered to UP 449 in 1915. After nearly 54 years of service, the loco was "vacated" (retired and scrapped) in April of 1954. Rebuilt specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x30" cylinders, engine weight of 187,891 lb, tractive effort of 39,458 lb. No location or photographer was listed for this photo. The date was given only as July, 1949.

Description:  Looking as sharp as the day it was built is Union Pacific 2-8-0 #477. This appears to be a photo taken after it was retired and on its way to Salina, Kansas, to serve as a permanent display piece in July of 1955. Originally built by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in July of 1901 as UP 1697, it was a Vauclain compound loco who was simplified sometime between 1903-10. The loco was renumbered to UP 477 in 1915. Specs - class C-57, 57" drivers, Rebuilt specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x30" cylinders, engine weight of 187,891 lb, tractive effort of 39,458 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo but it appears as if it were just prepped for display in Salina, KS..
