Sitting in the Joliet yard is EJ&E DRS6-6-1500 #500 built by Baldwin in January of 1949 as Bessemer & Lake Erie #401. It was acquired by the "J" in March of 1956. The loco was finally retired in November of 1975. No date or photographer was listed for the photo. |

EJE DT66-2000 #711 - Elgin, Joliet & Eastern |
| Description: |
Talk about "one long drink of water" as diesels go, this massive DT66-2000 loco was built by Baldwin in May of 1948 originally as EJE 111. Although the length is listed as 74', it appears so much longer than that! Itwas renumbered in January of 1958 to EJE #711. After nearly 22 years of service, the loco was retired in February of 1970. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so approximates were used. |

Built by EMD in May of 1960, the loco served the EJE for nearly 49 years. However, with the formation of the Gary Railway in 2009 after CN purchased the EJ&E, the loco was transferred to the Gary Rwy. It was painted yellow & became GRW #300. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so approximates were used. |
