CRR 4-6-0 #1 - Clinchfield RR |
Description: |
Known as "Old Number One" at the museum, this 4-6-0 was built by the Columbus, Chicago & Indiana Central Railway in Logansport, Indiana in 1882. It worked its way on several lines but eventually came back to the Clinchfield Railroad as a tourist train until 1979. Nice white face! |

BLR 4-6-0 #3 Blue Ridge Rwy |
Description: |
Not to be confused with the Blue Ridge Scenic Rwy, this locomotive was built for the Blue Ridge Rwy which was chartered in 1852 and eventually becoming part of the Southern Rwy system. This RR Archives website doesn't recognize "BLR" as the reporting marks for the Blue Ridge Rwy. If anyone has information about this locomotive, it would be appreciated. The photo came from the F. Will Martin collection with the location listed and the year 1940 listed. |

FSW 4-6-0 #14 - Fort Smith & Western Ry |
Description: |
Here is a rare shot of a Fort Smith & Western Ry loco at the shops in Fort Smith, Arkansas, just 3 years before the line ceased operations. This was a small short line linking Fort Smith with Oklahoma City, OK to serve the bituminous coal fields in the Ouachita Mountains and to transport passengers between the two major cities. It ceased operations on February 9, 1939. I would appreciate any help in identifying the locomotive maker. The day in 1936 is approximate. T.W. Cassidy photo credit |
